FOUNDER SELLS HOPKINS & ASSOCIATES TO SENIOR COLLEAGUES
Dallas-Based Public Relations Firm Continues Successful 33-Year Practice
DALLAS, January 6, 2010 - Hopkins & Associates Inc. has been acquired by three long-time associates, Lisa Alves, Barbara Hyman and Marilyn Pippin. Founded in 1976 by Clyde Hopkins, the firm is one of the leading independent public relations firms in Dallas. Hopkins will continue to serve of counsel for the company as he transitions to retirement. The name of the company will remain the same.
"Barbara, Lisa and Marilyn bring a tremendous amount of energy and capability to bear for our clients," Clyde Hopkins said. "In fact, they have been managing the firm for the last several years, so the transition has been smooth and faultless."
A full-service public relations agency, Hopkins & Associates has served as public relations counsel for some of the most well-known and respected companies in the U.S., as well as many smaller companies. Clients have included Anheuser-Busch, Frito-Lay, McDonald's, LTV, Diamond Shamrock, Walmart, Gillette, EDS, Freeman and American Express. One of the firm's hallmarks is longevity of service with clients, many for 10 years or more. The agency is currently in its 20th year of service to Toyota Motor Sales USA, for example.
Lisa Alves joined Hopkins & Associates in 1995 as administrative assistant. She advanced quickly, assuming billing and accounting responsibilities, and became office manager in 2000. As a principal, Alves also coordinates information technology for the company as chief administrative officer.
A 29-year veteran of Hopkins & Associates, Barbara Hyman joined the agency as an account executive early in her career. She has since led many of the long-term programs for clients, including marketing public relations and internal communications initiatives. Hyman is chief operating officer in her ownership capacity, responsible for business development and leading client accounts.
Marilyn Pippin joined Hopkins & Associates in 1996 as vice president and account supervisor. She became president in 2004 and supervises major accounts. Pippin continues as president of the firm, in charge of client service.
